Provista have secured a wireless project to design and implement a Wireless LAN infrastructure for National Libraries of Scotland. The technology chosen was Nortel Networks 2300 series WLAN which includes Controllers, Access Points and Management Software. The WLAN is to provide a number of services including Guest access using Web Portal Authentication for a new public visitor centre in Edinburgh and secure access for Staff using highly secure authentication and encryption with integration to Microsoft Active Directory.
The solution will deliver a very secure and manageable WLAN solution to both Guests and Staff. Provista were selected due to our high level of expertise in WLAN deployments and proven track record of successful WLAN projects.

Provista continue to grow and on the 1st April we moved to a larger office to accommodate a our larger and improved Network Operations Centre, Lab and Pre-Build facility and General Office space for increasing numbers of staff.
To underline this growth and commitment to the Scottish market place Provista are delighted to welcome Patrick O’Hanlon to the team in the role as Sales Manager. Pat has many years of experience working for Systems Integrators and Cisco Gold Partners including Affiniti & Dimension Data. Pat’s expertise in sales in the Scottish market for 20 years will be huge benefit for Provista’s customers and partners and we are delighted that he has joined Provista.

Provista has been awarded a two year contract with a third year option to supply a Remote Monitoring Service in the Western Isles for the Connected Communities Network. Highlands & Islands Enterprise operate a network in the Western Isles to deliver broadband services to residential, public sector and business organisations. The network has grown over the last three years and is based on Microwave, 5.8Ghz WIFI Radio and Cisco Switches. The equipment is located in extreme and remote locations and requires 24x7x365 monitoring to ensure faults are detected and resolved in a timely manner and proactive monitoring will avoid expensive outages.
The Provista solution is hosted in secure and highly available data centres in Glasgow and Edinburgh and staffed at our NOC in Hamilton. Provista were awarded the contract by demonstrating a track record in deploying similar solution and unique features offered at very completive price.
